Loom knitting for beginners
Each peg holds a stitch; lifting the old loop over a new wrap forms the next row.
Gather and work
Choose a loom suited to the yarn and gauge. Wrap each peg once for a cast on, wrap again, then lift the lower loop over the upper loop with the loom hook. Work consistently in one direction.
First project
Work a short tube over 24 pegs for 20 rounds. Count a round when every peg has been worked once.
Keep the work even
Keep wraps loose enough to lift without forcing the hook. Peg spacing sets a trial density; measure a washed sample before sizing a garment.
