Cast on 21 stitches. Slip purlwise so the loops do not twist.
Work the repeat
Row 1 (RS): k1, [sl1 with yarn in front, k1] 10 times. Row 2 (WS): p2, [sl1 with yarn in back, p1] 9 times, p1. Repeat two rows.
Read the fabric
On the reverse row, yarn in back places the strand on the right side. Keep the carried strand loose enough to span one stitch.
