Cast on 20, an even number. Knit two setup rows in A.

Work the repeat

Rows 1–2 in B: [k1, sl1 purlwise] 10 times. On row 1 keep yarn behind; on return row 2 keep yarn in front. Rows 3–4 in A: knit all stitches. Repeat 4 rows.

Read the fabric

A slipped stitch is carried through the pair of rows. Do not slip it again in the next colour pair in this simple repeat; the full-knit A band resets every stitch.
