Crochet colourwork
Change colour at the final pull-through; choose carried tapestry, separate intarsia supplies or a stitch-by-stitch graph.
Work the technique
In tapestry crochet work over the inactive strand and keep it loose. In intarsia use separate supplies for separate blocks. For a graph, turn at each row and read the direction from its row number.
Try it on a sample
Use a 12-sc sample with a 4-stitch central colour block for four rows. Keep 12 top stitches each row.
Check and recover
Carrying thick yarn stiffens the fabric and may show through. Swatch the exact carrying method before converting chart dimensions to finished size.
