Wash, block and store yarn projects
Follow the exact yarn care band, support wet fabric and measure a spare swatch before washing the full item.
Wash
Keep contrasting colours together in the test swatch. Use the permitted temperature and detergent. Avoid rubbing untreated wool; support the knit while lifting and remove water without wringing.
Dry and reshape
Lay flat when directed, smooth seams and edges, and let the piece dry fully before wearing or measuring. Avoid direct heat on acrylic and other heat-sensitive fibres.
Store
Store clean, completely dry fabric folded. Keep vulnerable animal fibres in closed containers, inspect them regularly and separate a suspected pest problem from the rest of the stash.
