Weave in crochet ends

Secure crochet tails through substantial reverse-side stitch paths, then turn back through another route.

Work the technique

Thread a blunt needle and pass through several stitches without pulling the fabric tighter. Change direction and weave through another group. For a ring, include the centre loops before moving outward.

Try it on a sample

Weave both tails of a two-colour square, wash it and inspect the edges and centre.

Check and recover

A short straight tail can slip from an open lace space. Follow solid stitches, keep extra length in slippery yarn and trim only after the join holds.
