Nylon in yarn blends

Nylon, also called polyamide, is commonly added to sock yarn for strength and abrasion resistance.

Match the fabric to the project

The nylon percentage does not replace the properties of the wool or other partner. Test the blend as a complete fabric, including the ribbing and heel or toe area.

Finish a sample first

A nylon blend inherits the exact product’s care instructions. A wool-and-nylon yarn is not automatically machine washable just because nylon is present.
