Crochet finishing techniques
Finish the last stitch, secure tails and join matched edges without adding hidden extra stitches.
Work the technique
After the last full stitch, cut a generous tail and pull it through the working loop. Weave the end into the reverse face. Join or edge the piece after checking counts and dimensions.
Try it on a sample
Add one US sc border to a practice cloth, placing three sc in each corner. If a side cups or waves, adjust its pickup distribution.
Check and recover
A joining slip stitch normally does not count as another sc. Mark corner stitches so the next round can find the true centre of the corner group.
